Entry-level homes in Anchorage have become a high-demand item. For just under $200,000 it's very hard to find a full-sized detached home with covered parking, two full baths and over 1100 square feet of living space with three bedrooms. Much of the home has been modernized (and some has not) so you will see a newer gas range and microwave, and a gas fireplace. The roof was replaced just two years ago with a durable torch-down. This is a very convenient East Anchorage neighborhood, close to all parts of the University-Medical complexes, and the military bases. Major shopping malls have opened in the area recently, making East Anchorage a beautifully self-sufficient area for those who prefer more play time to driving all over the place.
Update, Late October: In response to criticism of the unconventional interior color scheme the owner had the entire interior professionally repainted this month. Looks much better now. Carpets are to be cleaned also. A buyer obtained an inspection report, backed out, but the owner is getting bids to accomplish the recommended repairs anyway. While the list of items seems long, most are relatively minor, and attributable to lack of maintenance by long-term tenants. This is evident from the earlier clean inspection report by the same firm, also in the package, from when the owner purchased the property: he only lived in it a short time before leaving town and renting it out.
